The care and support you desire, in the most comfortable place possible.

The place you call home

Dr. Kayleigh hopes to create a way to allow this private, personal, and powerfully emotional moment to be at home, among family and friends.

Here in the comfort of your own home, we can eliminate the concerns that come with getting to, or being in, a public clinical setting.

Our focus is on you feeling truly supported and cared for through this difficult time.

We can take care of everything.

Just the same care and support throughout the entire process as if you were in a veterinary clinic, but personalized and private at home.

We can be there for you, so you can truly be there for them.

You’ve been with them for every step, now let us be there to help you through this one.

See if these frequently asked questions can help

  • Our services should be identical to those you would receive in a clinical setting, with the only difference being the location. Keep in mind Dr. Kayleigh still works in clinic, and has done so for years, so the service you’ll receive with her will be just the same quality as anywhere, with an added touch of her individual compassion and passion.

Similar to service within a veterinary clinic, the process of the euthanasia itself is an inclusive service that has everything necessary for a peaceful passing. There are then additional optional services, like cremation services and a variety of keepsake options, which do have an additional cost associated.

The added privacy, peace and comfort of being in your own home are seen as assets, but if this does not feel like the memories you want within your home, we understand, and there are many amazing veterinary clinics to offer “in clinic” alternative options.

  • Yes! Our services are designed to come to you (within Edmonton and the surrounding areas). We will join you and your pet where you’re most comfortable; your home. It’s hopefully that simple. We bring veterinary care, compassion and support to you at a pre-arranged appointment time.

The only requirement is that it must be a private, personally owned or rented location. We cannot go to public areas like public businesses, parks/fields or walking trails, etc. Even if these are your pet’s favourite places, and where they feel most comfortable, this is not possible, nor safe to do. If you have thoughts about using a particular space, you can always ask our veterinarian during your free consultation.

We encourage you to have everyone present that you’d like; there is no limit, it’s your home so your choice. We also encourage video calls for those far away, to help them feel close too.

There is also no requirement or limit as to where in your home we provide service. Pick whichever area of the house has you and your pet feeling most comfortable. We just ask that the area be large enough to allow comfortable space for your pet, our veterinarian, and yourself.

We do encourage safe and comfortable areas, often this is best accomplished indoors, but we will try to accommodate reasonable and safe outdoor requests as well (though they must still be on privately owned land). If the area is felt to be unsafe, our veterinarian may refuse an unsafe space (ie. outdoors in the middle of winter) and ask to move somewhere safer.

  • Our veterinarian will bring everything required. There is nothing that you need to supply or have ready. All of your focus can be on your pet, your family, and your own needs, we can take care of everything else.

Likewise, your house does not require any special features. Any standard door should accommodate our supplies, and yes, we can do stairs.

We will join you in whichever area of the house you and your pet are feeling most comfortable in at the time. (*pending it must still be in keeping with the private, personally owned/rented requirements, safely accommodating your pet, our veterinarian, and yourself).

  • As per our licensing organization’s requirements (the ABVMA), we do not advertise or market our services.

However, we can promise that we work to keep costs to you as low as possible, since we want this service to be available to every family possible. We also try to stay comparative to in clinic costs as much as possible.

For details on prices please ask directly and we’ll do our best to explain our services and the options available.

  • Every appointment starts as a request, so we can ensure that we can meet your every need. Once we ensure there’s no conflicts or concerns, we will confirm the appointment.

There are many ways to make appointment requests - calling, emailing, or filling out our request forms (on the contact us page, and request an appointment page). Whatever version you pick, making the request will hold that spot for you until we confirm the appointment.

If it is a special request appointment (outside our weekend business hours), we cannot guarantee availability as the hours fluctuate greatly week to week. But please make your request, and we will do our absolute best to accommodate, or provide alternate options.

In terms of availability, things do fill up quickly, just like with any veterinary clinic. So if you have a specific day or time, try to request as far in advance as you can.

  • We understand, and this will always be possible. There are no cancellation charges or penalties, even if you cancel last minute. And you will always be welcome to rebook.

We very much understand that the nature of this decision is filled with turmoil and uncertainty, because how do you really predict the future? We also know that things can change quickly, and that so much is outside of anyone’s control. This is why there will never be an issue, penalty or fee for needing to cancel or adjust your appointment with us, and you are always welcome to rebook . We want to reduce the stress surrounding this time as much as possible, and hopefully knowing there is flexibility helps to do that.

We’ve tried to make it easy - you can call, email, or cancel your appointment through the same request form. Our only caveat is that, like with any veterinary appointment, the more last minute the request the harder it can be to find an ideal time that works. So if you need to cancel or adjust, please be understanding that rebooking may be more difficult than the initial request.

Please note: We are not an urgent care or emergency service. If your pet is in distress, please proceed to an emergency 24 hour veterinary facility (including Vet ER, Boreal Veterinary Centre and Pulse Veterinary Specialist and Emergency), as we are not able to provide immediate emergency help.

  • We make this simple too, we come to you!

Since we don’t have a physical clinic location, at which you would normally pick up your items once ready, for all your cremation and personal keepsake items we deliver directly to you.

Just like with our appointments, we will prearrange a time with you. We will call once your items are ready and available (typically 1-3 weeks), find a time that works best, and deliver to you. For specific items, namely the Peartree paw prints, it can be 3-12 months, as it takes the company this long to create the custom items.

We also won’t take any offense if you would rather avoid the face to face meeting again - we understand that seeing us again can bring up emotions. For this reason, you can request a drop off instead, and specify the best time for us to deliver your items to you.

For smaller keepsakes, like the complimentary ink paw prints, we may mail these items within a card.

We truly aim to simplify and relieve stress around this entire process, so let us know what feels most comfortable for you.

See how Dr. Kayleigh can add in home comfort to veterinary care for you, and your beloved animal.
